South Lake Tahoe, CA- Neighborhoods throughout South Lake Tahoe are invited to join over 38 million neighbors across 16 thousand communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories and military bases worldwide for National Night Out.

National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes strong police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live and work. Together, we are making that happen.

“This event helps bring the community and public safety professionals together,” said Ashley Acker with South Lake Tahoe Police, “It’s a chance for everyone to interact at a family-friendly event and have a little fun while they’re doing it.”

This year’s event will be held at Bijou Elementary School, on Tuesday, August 6 from 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM. Agencies including South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue, the El Dorado County Sheriffs Office, Barton Hospital and more will be a part of the event.

“This is a night for our nation to stand together and promote awareness, safety, and neighborhood unity,” said Matt Peskin, National Project Coordinator with National Night Out said. “National Night Out showcases the vital importance of police-community partnerships and citizen involvement. When law enforcement and the community work closely together, some amazing things can happen.”
