[National Weather Service in Sacramento]

* An incoming strong storm system will bring a period of excessive  rainfall to northern California. The combination of saturated  ground, heavy rain, and snow melt will result in large amounts  of runoff into rivers and streams.

* Significant rises in rivers and streams draining from the  mountains can be expected beginning Sunday night. Elsewhere,  flooding of poor drainage areas and flood prone creeks and streams  will be possible across the Sacramento and northern San Joaquin  valleys.

* Mud slides in areas of higher terrain are also possible, which  could lead to road closures and significant travel delays.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared to take action should flooding develop.

Denise Smith wrote: "Our insurance adjuster was scheduled to come out tomorrow. He just called and wanted to reschedule for sometime next week or the week after. He said that we are in all probability going to have another high water event Monday night into Tuesday. He said that Michigan Bar is predicted to crest at 13, but that could change (hoping so)."
