El Dorado County announces a community meeting for local stakeholders who have experience and expertise in mental health services, and/or substance abuse disorder treatment, and/or diversion programs to serve on El Dorado County’s Proposition 47 Local Advisory Committee. The Local Advisory Committee is a requirement of the Proposition 47 Request for Proposal, released from Board of State and Community Corrections.
The meeting, Friday, January 13, 2017, from 1:30pm to approximately 4:00pm, is to discuss the community needs and prospective programs and/or services for mental health services, substance use disorder treatment, and diversion programs. Prop 47 Grant Overview
The California Board of State and Community Corrections issued a Request for Proposals for a grant to provide both adults and juveniles that have been arrested, charged with, or convicted of a criminal offense AND a history of mental health issues or substance use disorders, as well as other community-based supportive services. El Dorado County intends to submit a grant application, which is due February 21, 2017.

• How to identify and prioritize the most pressing needs to be addressed (to include target population, target area, etc.);
• How to identify the strategies, programs and/or services to be undertaken to address those needs;
• The development of the grant project;
• Ongoing implementation of the grant project.
LAC Member Responsibilities
