[El Dorado County Sheriff's Office, 1-21-21]
Last year a burglary occurred at a residence in El Dorado Hills. A wall safe was removed and approximately $50,000 in cash was stolen.
The El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Investigation team collected potential DNA samples from evidence that was left at the scene.
Approximately one year later, the DNA test results came back with a direct match to a male subject residing in the Roseville area.
Detectives completed and obtained an arrest warrant and the suspect was taken into custody along with a female subject who is believed to be an accomplice in the crime.
Further investigation is being performed in an attempt recover the stolen money.
It’s important to remember that sometimes cases are not solved overnight, and the small things will lead to suspect identification over time.
