On Friday, May 8, El Dorado County submitted a plan for accelerating into Stage 2 of the California State plan for loosening the stay-at-home mandate.
In light of this, El Dorado Irrigation District is planning for a structured and safe return to offering recreation activities at EID facilities as soon as safely possible.
Initial activities permitted will include opening the park on a limited basis with restrictions for day use activities, including the use of the boat ramp.
We understand that many in our community are eager to spend time in the outdoors given the ongoing public health crisis.
EID is committed to ensuring a safe environment for our visitors and staff and opening the Sly Park Recreation Area to community use will require active engagement in safe practices from visitors in order for us to keep the park open. This includes maintaining a safe physical distance of six feet and wearing face masks in appropriate situations, avoiding crowded trails and parking lots, and gathering only with members of your household.
The District will provide additional information and details about the potential reopening of Sly Park Recreation Area early next week once we receive the details and approval from public health officials.
