(PLACERVILLE, CA)—El Dorado County’s Department of Transportation today announced that City of South Lake Tahoe crews will require a temporary closure of Barbara Ave, from Martin Ave to Sierra Blvd, beginning Monday July 1st, 2019 and continuing through Thursday, August 15th, 2019.

The project consists of full roadway reconstruction and pedestrian and drainage improvements along Sierra Blvd. from Palmira Blvd. to Barbara Ave.

Barbara Ave. in the South Shore of Lake Tahoe, between Martin Ave. and Sierra Blvd., will be closed to thru traffic for construction. The closure is necessary to ensure motorist and worker safety while the City’s contractor performs work on Sierra Blvd between Barbara Ave. and Alma Ave.

Access for local residents and visitors, as well as emergency personnel and law enforcement to streets on either side of the closure will be via Fountain Ave., Reno Ave. and Kubel Ave. Appropriate signage will be installed to notify of the temporary closure. Motorists are also advised to allow extra time when traveling through the area in order to arrive at their destinations on time.

The County sincerely appreciates the cooperation and patience of motorists that use these roadways and we apologize for any inconvenience as a result of this road closure.
