The State of California is transitioning to a new Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) Vendor for its public assistance programs, which include CalFresh and CalWORKs. Because of this transition, a statewide 24-hour EBT outage and black-out period is scheduled from Saturday, June 23, 2018, beginning at 11 p.m. until Sunday, June 24, 2018 at 11:00 p.m. During this 24-hour period, EBT cardholders with the CalFresh and CalWORKs programs will not be able to use their EBT benefits and will not be able to access the EBT client website at www.ebt.ca.gov.

EBT cardholders are advised to plan ahead for shopping needs and to get cash. After 11:00 p.m. on June 24, 2018, cardholders will be able to use their EBT card again and access information online via the EBT client website.

This state scheduled, one-time EBT outage is required to support the transition of EBT vendor services from Conduent (formerly Xerox) to Fidelity Information Services (FIS). Notices regarding the EBT outage have been mailed to clients and posted in social services offices. For questions regarding their EBT cards, benefits and/or the outage, clients may contact the state EBT Customer Service Help Line at (1-877-328-9677).
