UPDATE: The fire is 154 acres and holding. Omo Ranch Road is now open. All other road closures are still in place. Law Enforcement is patrolling all evacuated areas. Mandatory evacuations are being lifted, voluntary evacuations will remain in place. The evacuation shelter at Pioneer Park will remain open until 8 am tomorrow morning reports EDSO Sergeant Tasha Thompson.
The fire sparked about 2 p.m. in Amador County but quickly burned into El Dorado County.
“The fire did come out of the back of this residence (on Ranch Camp Road) burned through the grass and then got going into the brush and into the trees and it took off rather quickly,” Cal Fire spokesman Mike Webb said.
“Seems like they got it fairly under control as far as this direction, so I’m not too worried about it,” resident Peter Santos said.
